The soil

There are some places in the world that are predisposed to produce excellent flavour. The Bordeaux region, with its steady, temperate climate on the line of the 45th parallel offers a perfect environment for producing
high-quality wine. The region has been at the centre
of wine-growing for centuries, as wine-makers have meticulously perfected their techniques, constantly improving their products.

AOC or Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée wines are
the tangible expression of this magical combination
of nature and cultivation. Stringent rules governing both how the vines are grown and the natural environment in which they develop support the constant improvement
in the quality of Bordeaux wines.

As a result, the right bank of the Dordogne is home
to some of the very greatest wines, including St-Émilion, Pomerol, Fronsac and many others. These wines demand high-quality work on both the vines and the wine itself,
as well as the specific characteristics of the land that make Bordeaux wines so diverse.
